Below we have outlined the requirements for letterpress artwork. Please review before submitting your project. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us. We are happy to assist.

1. Artwork should be in .EPS or .AI format with crop marks.

Other formats including psd, jpg, tif, bmp may also be submitted however fees may apply if conversions are necessary. If you are unsure, please feel free to inquire as we are more than happy to assist.

2. Vectorize your type and artwork for optimum quality!
Vectorizing your type minimizes any chances of font problems. As for artwork, halftone and line screen artwork does not translate very kindly for letterpress so we recommend your artwork be either outlined (vectorized) or hi-res bitmap.

3. Bitmap your artwork (when necessary)
To bitmap your artwork, open artwork in Photoshop and selecting Image > Mode > Grayscale. Then select Image > Mode > Bitmap. A pop-up window will prompt you for your settings. Select a resolution of at least 600-1200 dpi using the 50/50 threshold setting. NOTE: Generally, you should bitmap your files only when printing a photographic image.

4. Check Your Color Settings.
Make sure your file is set as CMYK. Each color should be on a separate layer and set to 100% BLACK.

5. Create Your Crop Marks.
Crop marks can be made in illustrator by going to Filter > Create > Crop.

6. When in doubt, give us a shout!
